How do we set ourselves apart from everyone? How do we stick out? How do you even become an Exceptional human being? An Exceptional Man? What does that word even mean?
Well, let’s start with the definition of exceptional: to be uncommon; unusually excellent; superior. The opposite, or the antonym of exceptional is “average”. So what does that say about our lives? Are we doing things that are unusually excellent? Or superior?
I don’t know about you, but this put a lot of questions in my head; whether or not I am living a life of excellence. Of unusual excellence. I figured I would start by seeing what some of the people I look up to do well, what they stand for and how they got to “the top”.
- Michael Jordan: I know it may sound cliché, but he’s kind of a big deal when it comes to sports. Not only was he a good athlete (basketball, baseball and golf), but he was also a great business man too. He is known, as of 2015, as the second richest African-American and the first NBA player to ever become a Billionaire. And this didn’t come from being fed with a silver spoon, he earned this title. With all of his endorsements over the years from Nike, Pepsi, Hanes and plenty more; all the way to owner of the Charlotte Hornets. There was always one thing that set him apart from his competition: vision. His vision was clear; he was going to practice the hardest, the longest and try his best at whatever he did in order to succeed. Nothing was going to fog up that plan.

- Manoj Bhargava: Many people may not know of this man, but they sure do drink his products. He’s the owner and CEO of Innovations Ventures LLC, the infamous producers of 5 Hour Energy Drink. Manoj isn’t just another energy drink junky though. Ever since making his first Billion dollars with the tiny drink in 2014, he has pledged to spend 99% of his income on helping those less fortunate in the world. He embarked on a project focused on renewable energy and medical devices that aid to the poor and sick in rural countries without contact to the outside world. If you haven’t seen his documentary “Billions in Change” yet, you’re in for quite a treat.

- Whole Foods Market: It may be an odd motivator, but Whole Foods Market has been a pivotal component in shifting focus in the grocery store market place, towards all natural, organic products. The founders believe in quality over quantity, which is exactly how we operate here at Uncut Standards. They have high standards for manufacturers and won’t accept anything with artificial preservatives. With a net income of $551 Million, total equity $3.9 Billion and 91,000 employees, you can definitely say they are the leaders of the organic grocer world. The recent buy out from Amazon for a whopping $13.7 Billion has quite a few people balancing on the edge of their seat. We think this is only a benefit towards growth in the right direction. With the combination of ethical foundation from Whole Foods and the technology, advertising and prices of Amazon’s network, we think organic food with be the same price, if not cheaper than GMO food in the near future! This is HUGE!

These are just a few people and organizations that inspire us to do better in this world. Our main focus is to provide men with products that are good for their bodies, at an affordable price. It’s really that simple for us. We aren’t asking you to be appearance driven, or care what others think of you; we simply want you to be able to take care of yourself, so that YOU feel good.
Our hope some day, is to the push out the harsh chemical products off the shelves of all major retail stores, and replace them with all natural and organic products (at a comparable price). It’s a shame that modern day shopping pushes you towards fake, GMO products based on plummeting sales prices. We want to go against the status quo of the retail/beauty market and push towards a brand that supports who you are and who you want to be.
Strive to be more. Strive to be unusually excellent. Strive to be exceptional.
